North Stonington is the largest town in New London county with a land area of 54.31 square miles, just ahead of Lebanon at 54.11.  Charming homesteads dot velvet green rolling landscapes, especially along scenic Route 49. A leisurely drive in spring with its colorful blooms accents this pastoral setting. The Shunock River winds its way through North Stonington's historic district, where graceful old homes add an air of elegance to the village.

If you are an equestrian lover, North Stonington is the place to be. There are a number of stables and boarding facilities, many of them providing riding lessons and competitions. You'll find even more equine events to enjoy at the annual  North Stonington Agricultural Fair.  For four days in mid-July spectators fill the fairgrounds for fun, food and festivities.
